Scott Wallace, Founder and Principal Geologist of The Wallace Group, Inc., has joined the Board of Directors for the Bend Science Station (BSS). Scott is a Bend native and practicing earth scientist with over 37 years in the geotechnical, environmental, and water resource consulting industry and is excited to bring his applied science, engineering, and business knowledge to the BSS. Established in 2002, the BSS has grown to include a Net Zero STEM learning facility on the campus of OSU-Cascades. Last year the BSS taught 5,000 K-12th grade students in 40 schools, and 220 educators from across Central Oregon. Through hands-on laboratory problem solving and collaboration, the BSS engages young people and empowers them to be critical thinkers and develop essential life skills to prepare them for future success, regardless of career path.
