Scott Wallace, Founder and Principal Geologist of The Wallace Group, has joined the Board of Directors for the Central Oregon Geoscience Society (COGS). As a Bend native and practicing earth scientist with over 36 years in the geotechnical, environmental, and water resource engineering field, Scott is excited to bring his applied geologic experience and knowledge of Central Oregon’s geosystem to COGS. Established in 2018, COGS is a Central Oregon-based non-profit organization promoting a greater understanding of the geological sciences through educational outreach, technical presentations, and field trips. COGS supports the community by engaging the expertise and diversity of its member interests, provides research grants for college students, and facilitates a local forum to discuss and enlighten both the public and the membership to relevant earth science issues.
